Belmont on Harewood. Your home away from home.
Visit our family home! Share your story with us. Meeting new people is what makes Bed and Breakfast special.
Jan is a medical secretary and Alan is retired after 34 years as a fire fighter. We love travel. luckily, our children have fled the nest with some of them living close, while others are travelling the world. They think we are following them!
It is our pleasure to meet you, greet you and share Belmont with you.
Our home is from a graceful time long past.
We love to share her grace and character, the architecture, the detailed leadlight windows and beautiful Rimu and Kauri timbers. We are still working on restoring the original beauty.
We have had many guests. Many tell us us, we greeted them as guests but treat them like family. Many wished they could stay longer and some have. Others have also returned again and many stay intouch by email.
We live with a dog and two cats, legacy of our travelling children.
Belmont, is located five minutes from Christchurch Airport, with easy access by bus and taxi or alternatively, using our optional free pickup and delivery service. You choose. Alan is always there for the late night flights.
The city centre can be reached in 10 minutes by car or the local bus which leaves opposite our gate. Intrepid walkers have reported a forty minute stroll to the central city. We have excellent restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions close by.
Our large sunny guest lounge and dining room, which look out to our courtyard and BBQ area, are where we gather to plan excursions, share wines, tea, coffee and chats.
Our bedrooms have comfortable beds and modern facilities like wireless internet, wall mounted LCD TV's and DVD's. The bedrooms either have an attached ensuite, or a detached private or shared bathroom. We have full disabled facilities including access ramps.
All rooms and bathrooms are serviced daily.
We are centrally heated and offer all year round comfort.
Your safety is important to us. Belmont is Fire Alarm protected.
Special breakfasts for those who are Gluten intolerant are available on prior request. Continental or full breakfasts provided.
As @HOME NZ members, our home and facilities are regularly inspected and of an excellent quality.
