Fothergills on Mimiha
Our stylish, private 2-bedroom suite is upstairs and all yours. The bathroom is downstairs but part of the unit separated from our house by a carport where you park your car. You have your own entrance, plus privacy and your own facilities, plus TV in each room, and a galley kitchen with all crockery and cutlery and a microwave and frypan. Breakfasts with us are garden-fresh, home-made and delicious, featuring seasonal produce we have grown ourselves, e.g. avocado's, tomatoes, citrus fruits or apples for juice, and we make a fantastic Coconut Muesli plus our own Greek Yoghurt to serve with whatever fruit is ready in the garden. As well we tempt you with some delicious preserves, like Lime Marmalade, or maybe Mandarine with a dash of Cointreau, Quince Jelly, or Crabapple, Fig & Orange Jam...the list goes on.
Cost is $160 summer, $150 winter per night, dinner by arrangement at $50, or $70 with wine.
Mimiha Cottage has everything you need for weekend or longer. Minimum 2-night stay $320 summer, $820 per week; winter $300 (min. 2 nights) , $700 p.w., $500p.w. for 3+ weeks. These prices include breakfast for the first 2 nights and then you supply your own, or we make an arrangement to suit you.
Enjoy our gorgeous 2+hectare garden with a lake and stream, trees and beautifully colour-coordinated garden beds featuring 230 roses, and large vege gardens and lots of fruit trees and vines. Guided walks are freely given, and you are encouraged to use the outdoor lounging areas and our shaded deck, plus the petanque court, and go walking up the no-exit country road or over the farmland hills. After a busy day have a relaxing soak in our luxurious outdoor spa pool.
There are our two outside dogs, Max & Mo, fox terriers who guard the garden from possums and rabbits. They will give you an enthusiatic welcome as they love having guests just as we do!
Our property is central to Rotorua, Tauranga, White Island, Whakatane and close to the main road (SH2)and beach, but being just off the main traffic highway enables peace and quiet conducive to sleep. This is a very pretty valley and the atmosphere is serene and tranquil.
