(Helen's) Waikanae Beach B and B / Homestay
Waikanae Beach is a great seaside location where one can relax and enjoy warm, friendly hospitality in the comfort of Helen's open-plan home.
There is direct access to a long sandy beach, and an abundance of bird-life around the Waikanae Estuary together with awesome sunsets, spectacular views of Kapiti Island and the Tararuas.
We are close to the Waikanae township (approx 6 kms), supermarkets, boutique movie theatres, shopping, restaurants, etc.
For car enthusiasts, a visit to Southward's Car Museum is a must, and for the nature lovers, amongst other sites of interest, a walk around the estuary with Mik Peryer is a wonderful 2-3 hrs experience, or visit Nga Manu Nature Reserve.
For those who like to shop, there is a large shopping complex in the next town south - Paraparaumu.
Play golf on the same golf-course Tiger Woods played, one of the top 100 courses in the world - Paraparaumu Beach Golf Course. Closer to home is the Waikanae Golf Club.
Do take the time to explore the Nature Coast. There is much to see. Those of Helen's guests who have only booked in for one night say that one night is just not enough and they wished they had booked in for at least two nights!
Helen enjoys making your stay special. If you are celebrating a special occasion, for a little extra cost, she can make it a more memorable experience.
For your convenience, we provide off-street parking, laundry facilities, if required.
If there are any special dietary requirements, Helen is more than happy to accommodate them.
Breakfast - continental and/or cooked are delicious and generous. Tea-making facilities in both guestrooms.
There is a shared lounge upstairs off which is a balcony where one can enjoy wonderful views of Kapiti Island, a world renown nature reserve.
Cotton linen, electric blankets provided. Beach towels are also available on request (no charge).
If you are contemplating a visit to Kapiti Island please note that a permit is required and during the busy summer season it is not always possible to procure permits at short notice.
