Vealbrook B&B
Welcome to our waterfront home on the Whangarei Heads in Northland, New Zealand, offering stunning views over picturesque McLeod Bay and Mt Manaia.
20 metres from the safe swimming beach of McLeod Bay. Vealbrook offers kayaks for guest use or hire, gardens to explore and a large balcony from which to enjoy breakfast or dinner and panoramic sea views. Your hosts Bob and Pre are friendly welcoming hosts who open their home to guests.
The accommodation at Vealbrook B&B consists of a self-contained studio apartment downstairs, with beds for up to 6 people, and 2 x Bed & Breakfast rooms upstairs, with a family-shared bathroom.
The house is arranged with antique furniture.
McLeod Bay is located 20 minutes drive from Whangarei city centre along the Whangarei Heads. Walk to the local cafe, dairy, sports club, and scenic walkways.
Location & Directions
From Whangarei drive east over the Hatea river towards the Whangarei Heads. Follow Whangarei Heads Road past Parua Bay. Shortly after the Parua Bay shops turn right (still Whangarei Heads Rd) and continue driving until you reach a beautiful bay with a backdrop of the stunning craggy Peaks of Mt Manaia – this is McLeod Bay. Vealbrook is on the waterfront of the left side of the road.
Whangarei is in Northland, New Zealand. 2 hours drive north of Auckland and 1 hour south of the famous Bay of Islands. Ocean Beach, a long white sandy surf beach, is only 10 minutes drive further along the Whangarei Heads. In the area are a diverse range of ocean and harbour beaches for every taste.

Your Hosts
Bob & Pre Sturge are long-standing residents of McLeod Bay. Pre is interested in gardening, fitness and cooking. Bob enjoys fishing and making homemade marmelades and jellies that can be enjoyed during the full breakfast.
Also dinner and pre-meal drinks can be supplied on request. Pre and Bob enjoy meeting new people and the chance to share their little slice of paradise.
