Hawkes Bay is New Zealand's leading wine and food region. With 2200 hours of sunshine, Hawkes Bay is a year round holiday destination with an eclectic mix of visual and sensory experiences. The razzamatazz of Napier's Art Deco's bygone era, the stunning Spanish Mission architecture that highlights Hastings, the regions fishing playground of abundant streams, rivers and sea, the warm sand to wiggle your toes in, the cool rustle of leaves in the native bush, the graceful gannets and the proud history steeped in Maori legends and culture.

Located on the east coast of the North Island, the landscapes of Hawkes Bay begin with the high forested Ruahine and Kaweka Ranges. From those mountains the land sweeps down to the coast, flattening out to become the rich, fertile Heretaunga Plains, the produce of which gives our region the name "The Fruit Bowl of New Zealand". A number of wide rivers run swiftly to meet the Pacific Ocean and glorious beaches that stretch from Mahia in the North to Porangahau in the South.
